The
Food and Nutrition
Service's (FNS) Food
Distribution Division (FDD)
works directly with
State Distributing
Agencies to process
their food orders.
FDD also ensures that FNS
provides children and
needy families with
better access to food
and a more healthful
diet through its
programs and nutrition
education efforts. Additionally, FDD works with
the Agricultural
Marketing Service (AMS),
the Farm Service Agency
(FSA) Commodity
Operations Staff, and
the Food Safety
Inspection Service (FSIS)
to purchase and
distribute a variety of
fresh, frozen, and
canned foods to
States and eligible
program recipients.
