Food Problem Hotlines  

This page provides links to toll-free hotline that may used by Food Distribution Program participants to report problems with USDA commodities. It also provides links to the other Federal  toll-free service that may be used for "general" food safety question.

USDA Commodity Complaint Hotline:  1-800 446-6991
This toll-free telephone service should be used only by States and local recipient agencies participating in the Food Distribution Program to report problems with donated commodities received from USDA.

USDA Meat and Poultry Hotline:  1-800 535-4555
This toll-free telephone service helps prevent foodborne illness specifically by answering questions about the safe storage, handling, and preparation of meat, poultry, and egg products.

The toll-free number for the hearing impaired (TTY) is 1-800-256-7072. For more information about the Food Safety and Inspection Service's (FSIS) hotline, please click HERE.


FDA Hotline:  1-888 463-6332
This Food and Drug Administration toll-free telephone service may be used for "general" food safety questions involving seafood products. For more information about how to contact FDA, please click HERE.
